Enjoying those moments....

It's moments like these that make you sit back, enjoy the moment and appreciate everything you have....the simple moments of life that mean the most!!!
Every night after dinner - Lyla runs into her room and screams my name....which is her way of inviting me to her "tea pot".....
Blowing the tea because it's too "hot" to drink...
Success - I got her hair in piggy tails - awwwwww......
What we found one day when getting Lyla up from a nap....she now goes to bed with pants or shorts over her diaper - haha!
Here's to the simple moments of life....

Soccer 101!

Soccer for a 20-month old!  I know what you are thinking - we aren't expecting Lyla to understand the fundamentals folks - it's all about Lyla running around and having a good time - that's the name of this soccer game!
Lyla is a FANTASTIC listener. No really! It is one of those things she constantly gets praised for. She is so curious and really focuses in on words and what people are saying to her.
Check her out - listening and imitating her Coach!
Intently listening to her coach....
Scoring her first goal...does it count if she threw the ball instead of kicking it :)
Running drills....
Run Lyla Run....
Okay so Lyla became the coaches favorite - maybe I'm a little bias - but she was the one child showing him love :) She knows how to work it - haha!
Guess who is intently listening again...okay one might say "staring"...maybe we need to teach her it's not polite to stare!!
Not close enough...she had to keep inching closer to all the action...
Proud daddy over-looking his daughter volley the ball....okay not really...but it sure does look like she knows what she is doing!
Silly Lyla there's no hands in soccer...
Mommy's turn to get in on the action...
Putting me to work...
Kissing up to coach yet again :)
Smile = Success!
Whew...taking a quick break!
Now that is one happy girl!
Why is Lyla the only child running mad...she is such a goof troop!
Team Cheer....
1,2,3.....Gooooo TEAM!!!
Lyla towered over all those boys and yep I'll be the proud parent that says it....she was the most athletic one of the bunch too!

I got the day wrong so Lyla had to fly solo without Tyson....but it's a darn good thing Tyson is in her class - the 2 of them can show the rest of the kids how it's done next week - watch out now!!!!

Oh and how dare I forget to mention Lyla's wrist band on her arm....that was all daddy...and he is trying to find her a headband for next week :)

Sneak Peak!!

In other news - we totally showed up on the wrong day!  Hello PREGO BRAIN!  So unforunately you won't see both Lyla and Tyson in action - you'll have to wait until next week for that :)

Tea Pot-tay!

Lyla's new favorite thing in the world is to have a "Tea Pot".
Here's how it went last night while eating dinner:
Mama, all-done, Up, Up, UP!!!! She runs into her big girl room and SHOUTS:  MAMA - TEA POT - MaaaaaaMaaaaaaa - TEA POT!
She is so sweet....I don't even mind the shouting:) Turn up the volume and enjoy the sweetness!
But all good things must come to an end. Things started off great - listen closely as Lyla names all those having tea. Mama, Lyla, Frog and Owl! A few moments later I could not understand what the heck she was trying to say which frustrates her terribly - booooo for Mommy not understanding!!! Sorry Lyla :(

Just realized blog readers that this is your first experience with hearing Lyla say "Me, me, me?" Oh yeah, Lyla is going through a "fun" stage these days....sense the sarcasm?  This week she managed to crawl out of the shopping cart (not the typical shopping cart - the fancy ones with TV's) and started swimming on her back down the grocery aisle...as she laughed hysterically.  It's all about Lyla these days and she sure let's you know by saying "Me, me, me" - haha!  I can laugh now but Lyla is definitely presenting us with some "challenges" as of late.
Oh, oh, oh and I gave you a glimpse of Lyla's big girl room. We are still a couple weeks from finishing everything up so sorry you are going to have to wait for the finished product!

Soccer!

Lyla starts Soccer this Sunday!  This is going to be HILARIOUS!  And her buddy Tyson is in the same class.  OH and the best part is she gets her first soccer uniform.  You can rest assured pictures will be posted Sunday afternoon :)

The perfect cafe with friends!

The perfect way to start a day....
Thanks Donna and Tyson for inviting Lyla and I to your favorite neighborhood cafe. It is indeed fabulous. While Donna and I caught up...the kids were busy entertaining themselves or in some cases looking to see if we were paying attention to them :)
And the food is DELISH!!!! Now that is how to start a day!!!!
I just realized I over-looked sharing these pictures. A random day at the zoo....before it rained :(
It is SO fun to see Lyla in action at the zoo. She can pretty much name or point out every animal in her animal books so to see her apply that to the real thing is so fun.
Here she is checking out the "Mooo-eeesss"
And roaring like a tiger...why didn't I bring the video camera?!?!
And waddling like a penguin - which has become her favorite thing to do the past few weeks.
Taking a break and watching 1 silly penguin swim laps...
Feeding the ducks....
Not sure why she felt the need to reach as high as she could when the ducks were so low ;)
And then it started raining - Ughhhh enough of the rain already.
The forecast for this weekend is sunny skies with NO rain. Can someone tell me why we are considering an IKEA trip on the first sunny weekend in weeks? I think we'll re-consider....

2 mins in the life of Lyla....

Watching a child's mind is SO fascinating...

Par-tay!!!!

I am still playing "blog catch-up" so going back a few weeks I must give the proper shout-out to Lyla's fabulous girlfiriends.....
Happy 4th Birthday Natalia!!!!!
We helped her celebrate her big day at Kohl's Children Museum.
Lyla ate pizza - WHAT! The girl hates pizza and still hasn't eaten it since. She was having too much fun to notice I guess!
Lyla chose to eat carrots instead of a cupcake....see the cupcake she took off her plate to make room for her carrots?!?!
Then I quickly went into action...this was a special day...Lyla must enjoy this special treat...so I force fed her a bite of cupcake...yes I shoved it in her mouth....but I think she appreciated it in the end....the carrots were quickly forgotten!
After consuming a very delicious lunch it was time to play again. Loyal blog readers...you may recall our first visit to Kohl's Museum. Most of our time was spent in the grocery. Lyla enjoyed the grocery but what's coming up next was of greater interest this time around!
Oh.....The WATER zone!
We spent most of our time in this section...
Check out the apron...too much! It kept hiking up her dress in the back - too funny!
Drying her hands :)
Thank you Natalia for inviting Lyla to your fabulous par-tay!!! We all had such a blast celebrating YOUR big day!!!!
Next up...
Happy 5th Birthday Reese!
For Reese's special day she had a BIG BOUNCY house in her backyard...absolutely fabulous! What more could Reese ask for to make her day so special and FUN!!!!
This one being a personal favorite...look at the "daddy's" in the background - so entertained watching the kids bounce and fall - such boys!!!!
Lyla is one lucky gal to have such fabulous friends!! Lyla looks forward to sharing lots of birthdays for years to come!!!
XOXOXOX!!!!
